“Everyone had a great time as the Nippers were so excited with the helicopter and the arrival of Santa with lollies,” Nippers coordinator Colin Knight said.
Westpac staff and shire mayor Lindsay Brown joined in the fun with Santa and more than 80 excited Nippers.
“Sadly Santa had to leave early to get back to the North Pole and make sure the elves had all the gifts for the girls and boys for Christmas ready,” Knight said.
Knight was impressed by the Nippers turnout at the Christmas party and is looking forward to the season continuing in January.
SURFBOAT ACTION
The Batemans Bay crew Starrett competed at Ocean Thunder in Sydney on Saturday.
Sweep Neil Innes, Brian Stephenson, Wayne Coppin, Brandon Ellis and Mick Bellette had six firsts in the heats.
In the final the crew finished fourth against some strong competition.
“It was an excellent effort by the team and we’re confident we can improve for the next comp,” Innes said.
PRESIDENTS’ GREETINGS
Club president Tracy Innes has asked for everyone to stay safe at the beach this Christmas by swimming between the flags and making the life savers’ job easier.
“It’s much easier for our guys to their job as anything can happen in the surf,” Innes said.
More volunteers are required for Christmas Day patrol.

The BBSLSC Christmas party is tonight at the Starfish Deli from 6.30pm and if you can’t make it the club would like to wish everyone a merry Christmas.
