The women’s 160 masters crew of Tracy Innes, Barb Van Luin, Danielle Herron and Karen Gleeson took out the gold medal for the third year running, while Neil Innes’ open men’s crew claimed third in a thrilling final.
A three to four-foot swell with an outgoing tide tested competitors when they had to cross a challenging offshore sand bank 100 metres from the starting line on the third and final day of competition.
“It was our third win in a row, which is really great so we’re just thrilled,” Tracy Innes said.
Meanwhile, the colts men’s crew won the NSW Open title at Manly Beach last weekend.
