Michael Christopher Austin was arrested in Batemans Bay on October 23 as part of Operation Whiskers, which led to his arrest and that of a 34-year-old woman from Merimbula, both of whom are suspected to be involved with an alleged Eurobodalla drug supply syndicate.
During the course of their investigation, police allegedly seized quantities of cannabis, liquid MDMA (ecstasy) and crystal methylamphetamine (ice) – some of the drugs allegedly imported through the post from Canada.
Mr Austin was charged with two counts of possessing a marketable quantity of a suspected imported border controlled drug, two counts of importing a marketable quantity of a border controlled drug, one count of possessing a prohibited drug and one count of handling an explosive precursor without an authorising licence.
