After four weeks of growth it was time for their moustaches to be felled but first some of the team lined up for a hearty steak before their wives and children wielded the clippers.
Some of the kids were more than keen to kick-start the shave-off on November 30 and reveal their dad’s more familiar face.
The money raised goes to the national health campaign that targets prostate cancer and male depression along with other health issues.
The Batemans Bay effort was led by Sergeant Brett Pitkin, who has dealt with his own cancer surgery.
Sgt Pitkin said the team raised about $2000 and NSW police teams raised in excess of $46,000 for the 2011 campaign – well above the $25,000 raised last year.
It is not known what other teams and individuals in the Eurobodalla raised for the cause.
Funds go to programs run directly by Movember, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue, the national depression group set up by former Victorian premier Geoff Kennett.
