Riders from Nowra, Milton, Berry and Bega joined a large number of local dressage enthusiasts to compete in levels from preparatory to medium tests.
This year saw a strong number of junior dressage riders demonstrate their riding skills. Ebony Riches, riding her horse Ollie, took out the highest point score on the day with Lucy Evans on board Charlie Brown closely behind her.
The adult classes were a mix of both official and unofficial classes from preparatory to the more challenging medium tests.
Eurobodalla Dressage Association spokesperson Vicki Evans said the day’s competition catered for riders of all levels of ability.
“The preparatory tests offered on the day provided an introduction for new riders to the discipline with a taste of basic dressage movements and an enjoyable relaxed outing,” she said.
These tests also saw a number of riders introducing their young horses to the discipline. Jean Eagan riding Linkwood Wildcat was the overall winner of the preparatory tests.
Sue Lawson riding her horse Nangudga Dajavu was the prelimary champion and the overall highest point score on the day. Denise Tiyce riding Langarra First Edition was the pony champion, Alyson Hedges riding Paddy Maginty was the novice champion, Joanne Simon riding Bonaparte was the elementary Champion and Jeff Adams riding Islamajazz was the medium champion.
Evans said the championships would not have been possible without the help of their sponsor.
“The Eurobodalla Dressage Club would like to thank its sponsor and also would like to congratulate the winners and thanks to all those attending for making the day a huge success,” she said.
