Dalmeny will play host to Tuross Head at 12pm before taking on Broulee at 3pm.
The day is sure to be jam-packed full of exciting cricket and big-hitting Dalmeny batsmen Matt Corbett said his side can’t wait to take to the field.
“Everyone at the club is really looking forward to it, especially some of the younger guys who see Twenty20 cricket on the TV and want to try it out themselves,” he said.
“There’s a lot of excitement among the boys and while we’ll be taking it seriously, it’s about having a bit of fun as well.”
Corbett said he didn’t think that his side would be disadvantaged by having to play back-to-back matches on Saturday.
“I can’t see it being too difficult for us to back up because playing back to back Twenty20 games takes no longer than the normal matches we play every Saturday anyway,” he said.
“We’ll probably mix our team up a bit and give some of our B graders who are on the fringes of the A grade team a chance. That will mean we’ll have some fresh players for the second game.”
Dalmeny are considered by many to be one of the favourites to win the tournament with the need for quick runs in the Twenty20 format expected to suit the likes of Corbett, Rob Boatwood and Rob Brown.
The fast paced nature of Twenty20 matches is sure to test the ability of the competitions captains and Corbett said he was looking forward to seeing the different tactical approaches.
“The tactics are certainly going to be a lot different to a normal game, which will be interesting,” he said.
“We’ve got a few plans and different things we’ll look to try. I’m sure it’s going to be a great experience.”
