The Christmas meeting brought an end to a big year for the Batemans Bay BMX Club that included a total track rebuild, the Bay Retro Classic and a steady increase in the number of club members.
The recent meeting marks the half- way point of the summer series. In the classes, Phillip Colman (54 points) leads Mitchell Clark (44 points) in the junior boys, Leah Hearne (36) leads Molly Colman (33) in the junior girls, Ford Ferguson (49) leads Jarrod Davis (36) in the senior boys and Nelson Crouch (52) leads John Kates (35) in the Old Farts class.
The weekend also saw Nelson Crouch set a new lap record of 47 seconds. The Summer Series will resume in February but to allow riders to get their BMX fix over the holidays, the Batemans Bay BMX Club will be holding a twilight series over January with later start times and a three moto format.
