Eurobodalla Shire Council rangers and police went to the home in Miller St and took possession of two other dogs, including a female pitbull.
The female was one of the two dogs involved in the attack on 38-year-old David Huntington in Golf Links Drive.
She has since been euthanased.
At the time of the unprovoked attack Mr Huntington was in his driveway and sitting on a small motorcycle about to ride off and deliver newspapers.
On Tuesday April 3, rangers delivered a Dangerous Dog Declaration to the dog owner but it is believed that the dog is no longer at the house.
The declaration means the dog is subject to the most restrictive controls that NSW legislation can impose on a dog.
A council spokeswoman said rangers and police were still seeking advice from the owner about the whereabouts of the dog.
