The 11-year-old donned his best Harry Potter costume for an accelerated learning workshop hosted by the University of Wollongong on January 10 and 11.
When asked about the Harry Potter-themed program, Craig’s response was swift: “It was awesome.”
“On the first day, we did charms classes and went to Diagon Alley and made our own wands,” Craig said.
“On the second day, we made a Whomping Willow and there was a boy who put Donald Trump’s face on the branches.”
The St Peter’s Anglican College student qualified for the program after ranking in the top 10% of students in his class and in the 90th percentile of NAPLAN students.
The University of Wollongong said the workshops were designed to stimulate the minds of academically-gifted students.
Craig was the recipient of a $500 grant from Batemans Bay Rotary, which was used to cover expenses.
