It was always going to be tough for the Tigers against last year’s grand finalists and, while they again showed patches of resilience, could not stem the flow of points. As with their game against Merimbula a fortnight ago, the Tigers played out an even first 20 minutes with their opponents, before a try to Bega number 12 broke the deadlock. It would be the first of nine tries for the home side in the first half, as the home side went into the break with a 28-0 lead.
The Roosters scored the first two tries of the second half, before Mason Harrison finally got his team on the board. They would go on to score two more times before the end of the match, but were outplayed by their opponents in attack, the final score 56-16.
There was better news for the club in reserve grade, with the Tigers winning 32-30.
