Police said investigations are continuing into the theft of a Mercedes from a property in Batehaven between 1pm on Saturday, January 21 and 6pm on Sunday, January 22.
The silver-coloured sedan was allegedly stolen from an Edward Road property. Police are taking reports through the police assistance line.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, police said a 55-year-old man had his backpack – containing his wallet, car keys and mobile phone – stolen while swimming at the beach.
Police said the incident occurred on the afternoon on January 21 at Myrtle Beach, South Durras.
A Good Samaritan drove the victim to a phone to call police, and the man’s phone was located in nearby bushland shortly after. No other items have been recovered at this stage.
Police said a tow truck was required to tow the man’s vehicle to his Manyana property.
Police have since issued a reminder to beachgoers to not leave valuable items unattended at the beach.
In a third unrelated theft, police said a surfboard was stolen from a Broulee surf shop on Friday, January 20.
Police said the board, valued at $650, was taken from a display rack outside the Coronation Drive shop at about 2:15pm.
The board has since been returned to the shop anonymously after community publicity through the surf club and social media.
