Falls at Kiama, Nowra, Jervis Bay, Ulladulla and Batemans Bay were all well above the monthly average into already sodden ground.

Thankfully, the falls were nowhere near as high as late February and March where the area was pounded by East Coast lows, resulting in wide-spread flooding.

Kiama recorded 218 millimetres for the month, Nowra 285.8mm, Jervis Bay 302.6mm, Ulladulla 217.5mm and Batemans Bay 101.2mm.

Nowra actually recorded a new wettest day for the month of April with 132.3mm received on the 7th.

However, it is the year to date figures that certainly make for interesting reading.

Kiama has received a whopping 1668.3mm since the start of the year (with rain recorded on 80 days). That's more than three times its average rainfall for the same period of 519.5mm.

Nowra has the next highest yearly total to date with 1390mm (75 days), also three times the average, 429.2mm for the same period.

Jervis Bay has more than doubled its yearly average to date, recording 1290.2mm (74 days) compared to its average of 505.8mm (52 days), while Ulladulla has also more than doubled its average rainfall for the period of 450.8 (51 days), recording 1250.2mm (78 days).

Batemans Bay, although well down on the overall amount of rainfall as recorded by its northern neighbours, is still well above average with 499.8mm (56 days) compared to the average of 330.2mm (41 days).

Kiama
