And 'Enter The Void' was born.

"It's basically just a fun surf flick we've been casually filming over the last two years," Russ said.

"It started out as a bit of a joke, but as it gained momentum we realised we'd better finish it."

On a serious note, Russ said Enter The Void features that "tunnel vision" all surfers get ... a condition many of their partners "often experience".

"It represents the total disregard of any responsibility or life commitments in order to satisfy the selfish and all-consuming pursuit that is surfing," he said.

"It's that tunnel vision that we get as surfers where nothing else matters, and we enter a completely blank state of mind until we score that next surf.

"Every surfer knows the feeling, and every surfer's partner knows, and is infuriated, by the feeling."

Enter The Void is a 45 minute surf film featuring waves from all over the South Coast - Jervis Bay, Summercloud Bay, Culburra Beach, Sussex, Bendalong and Bawley Point.

It also features a trip the pair took to Urbn Surf in Melbourne (the wave pool).

Enter The Void will have two screenings at Huskisson Cinema next month.

The premiere night is on Saturday, May 14 at 7pm, while the screening on Sunday, May 22 at 4pm will be a fundraiser night to raise funds for life saving cancer treatment for local Tammy Makin.
