The government gazette confirmed the acquisition of the land on Braemar Drive, Moruya by the NSW Government from Patent Development Pty under the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.
The official NSW Government notice was signed off by acting chief executive health infrastructure Leisa Rathborne on April 13.
NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said the process of acquiring the land included "delicate and difficult negotiations" because the owner and NSW Government could not agree on a price.
Mr Hazzard said the site for the new hospital was selected following careful consideration of key criteria such as road access and ensuring linkage to the future bypass, avoiding flood and bushfires zones, and proximity to the airport.

Former Bega MP Andrew Constance said the acquisition put to bed any community concerns in relation to whether the level four hospital would be built or not.
"Now that the critical service and master planning is finalised, it is time to get on with the build," he said.
Mr Constance hopes early work, such as building the entrance to the site and possibly even excavation, will begin by the end of 2022.
"The community with their advocacy deserve to be thanked," Mr Constance said.
Bega MP Dr Michael Holland gave special acknowledgement to the One New Eurobodalla Hospital community group for their persistent and committed petitioning over many years.
Dr Holland thanked the owners of Braemar Farm for their patience throughout the process of discussions with government, ending in compulsory acquisition.
Dr Holland said while the hospital was announced four year ago, his campaign started many years before that. He hopes to be the sitting member for Bega in three to four years time when the hospital is opened as a level four facility.
Members of the new Eurobodalla Regional Hospital will be at Moruya Country Markets on May 7 to share information about the hospital, designs, planning, next steps and how community members can be involved.
Members of the community can comment on the plans for the new Eurobodalla Regional Hospital development by completing the community survey.
