A Eurobodalla Shire man in his 80s has died of COVID-19 as the shire recorded another 65 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, January 27.

The elderly man's sad death is the second COVID-19 related death in the Eurobodalla Shire after a woman in her 70s died in Batemans Bay in September last year.
"SNSWLHD expresses its sincere condolences to his loved ones," an Southern NSW Local Health District spokesperson said.
In total, there were 334 new cases of COVID-19 detected in the Local Health District to 8pm on Wednesday, January 26.
Of those cases, 44 are in the Bega Valley, 65 are in the Eurobodalla, 47 are in Goulburn Mulwaree, 121 are in Queanbeyan Palerang, 21 are in the Snowy Monaro, 18 are in the Upper Lachlan, and 17 are in the Yass Valley.
There are now 3,896 total active cases in the LHD, with 22 of those in hospital and 34 receiving virtual care in their homes.
Two people from the LHD are in ICU with the virus.
There have now been 10,277 total cases in the LHD since July 1, 2021, and 11 people have died with the virus.
