"The Princes Highway should have full Telstra coverage and two of the worst spots are Termeil and Benandarah, between Ulladulla and Batemans Bay," Mr Constance said.

"Quite frankly, this could be a matter of life and death. Emergency services need to get to accident scenes on the Princes Highway as quickly as possible and too often, those first on scene don't have mobile coverage. This must get fixed.

"These spots are a shocker and the community needs coverage for safety reasons, more so than any other."

Mr Constance said that the entire length of the Princes Highway should have full coverage, along with other East West links such as the Kings Highway.

"I am calling on all community leaders in the Southern Shoalhaven and Eurobodalla to back the funding application being submitted by Telstra for Commonwealth Government funding," Mr Constance said.

"I have provided a letter of support and will be raising, directly with the Minister's office, the need for funding support to rectify these problem areas."

Telstra will make a submission under the Regional Connectivity Program to improve mobile connectivity along Princes Highway between Ulladulla and Batemans Bay.

Mr Constance said that letters of support from members of the community and stakeholders are "crucial to the assessment process."

"We all need to support this process so that we are all safer on our roads," he concluded.
