The workshop is designed to assist businesses that build, manufacture or produce products by demonstrating how new technologies can make their business more efficient.

The workshop will discuss advanced automation and robotics - including topics such as collaborative robots, machine-to-machine and human-to-machine communication, artificial intelligence and machine learning and sensor technology and data analytics.

"These technologies solve problems and save money," Eurobodalla Council's economic development manager Teresa Lever said. "They can help businesses think creatively about new products, value add or to solve a problem in production or a process."

Examples include using virtual reality technology for staff training or using computerised welders for training and assessing apprentices.

"We have some amazing businesses (in the Eurobodalla) in growth stages," Ms Lever said. "Embracing technology improves the capability of our workforce and can position Eurobodalla as a smart business centre - preparing for our next generation of workers - tech-smart kids."

The workshop is taking place online on Tuesday, February 1 from 12 to 2pm.

The Industry 4.0 team is also offering one-on-one discussions for local businesses.
