It was the largest crowd the Moruya Jockey Club (MJC) has seen since the bushfires three years ago, according to Ken Brown, Executive Officer of the MJC.
"The day was exactly what racing is all about," Mr Brown said.
"It was a good crowd, good racing and outstanding weather."
The Moruya Cup is the biggest event of the year for the MJC.
The event was a great opportunity for locals and visitors to the region to enjoy a day outside after three tough years for the area.
The day included a Fashion on the Field competition, with prizes for best dressed child, male, female and couple, and best hat.
Peyton Place won the 2022 Moruya Cup for the second consecutive year under jockey Koby Jennings.
The Moruya Cup was presented by Premier Dominic Perrottet, who attended the race day along with state MP Andrew Constance and Fiona Kotvojs.
The next meet at MJC is the Narooma Cup on January 13.
