The anniversary was marked with a high tea hosted by residential manager Tracey Art, as more than 30 residents and staff payed tribute to Maranatha Lodge's long history and traditions.
"The land on which the Home sits was originally owned by Mann's nursery. It was then bought by Cambridge Credit and then sold to the Batemans Bay Catholic Church Parish. Catholic Healthcare then took over in 2006," Tracey said.
"We have witnessed the Home grow steadily over the years from originally a 35-resident Home to now housing over 86 residents."
Local parish priest Father Martin Alogas gave a prayer and blessing before presenting awards to four of the longest-serving staff members -- one of whom was Maintenance Coordinator Bernard Beatty who received a long-service award for his 23 years' service.
"I am so proud and honoured to be presented with this award. It is a great acknowledgement and has personal meaning for me," Bernard said.
Other award recipients included two personal care assistants and a laundry assistant.
"We are like a family. The community at Maranatha Lodge is particularly close-knit, with many staff and residents holding long tenures or other connections to the Home," Tracey said.
"We are truly proud of the level of care and commitment that is shown to our residents."
