Even though the Culburra Beach athlete didn't choose his home break, it's nice to know a South Coast surf spot made the cut.
As part of a campaign with Surfing Australia and Airbnb, Wright curated a list of his favourite five surf destinations to inspire surfers of all abilities to hit the waves this summer.
Narooma was picked among Noosa, Byron, Forster and Murrawah in Tasmania.
He said Narooma has "some of the best fishing charters and uncrowded waves".
"The pub overlooking the inlet is a winner!" Wright said.
Wright has become a household name since the Tokyo Olympics, which marked a remarkable comeback from the surfer who suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2015.
Despite the setback, Owen's determination to once again dominate the pro circuit inspired the nation.
His passion for the sport and spending time with his family kept him going, which is why he is giving a family a four-night stay for $40 at his own Airbnb Beach House in Byron Bay.
"As a regular Airbnb guest all over the world, I love living like a local, immersing myself in the local community and discovering experiences off the tourist trail that bring the magic to any trip and help me feel at home," Wright said.
"As a host, I try to bring unique and personalised experiences to my guests so they can discover new things and create authentic memories. This is why I'm excited to offer up my family holiday home for an unforgettable four night stay and an epic surf safari with myself at one of my all time favourite beach breaks in Byron."
