Tasmania's COVID-free status could be behind an increase in doctor and nurse recruitment from mainland

A company that carries out recruitment for doctors, nurses and allied health professionals in Tasmania says the state's COVID-free status could be helping attract more workers.

More than twice as many doctors as usual were recruited in Tasmania from either the mainland or overseas during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, with relocating nurse numbers also significantly higher.
