A South Coast man has pleaded guilty to escaping arrest after breaking into an apartment near Moruya's CBD.

William John Bond, 34, of Worrigee, pleaded guilty to charges of destroy or damage property, common assault, escaping police custody, and break-and-enter and commit a serious indictable offence in Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday, September 27.
The charges all stem from two incidents in Moruya on the night of December 4, 2020.
According to police facts tendered to the court, a man was driving north on Evans Street, Moruya, about 7.15pm when he saw Mr Bond "stumbling" in the middle of the road near Albert Street.
The man slowed down to avoid a collision with Mr Bond, who then threw a large bottle of alcohol at the car's windscreen, causing a crack about 70cm wide.
The driver of the vehicle called Triple 0 while Mr Bond walked towards the driver's window and told him to "keep driving" several times.
The facts state Mr Bond then smashed the car's side mirror with a metal bottle before leaning in to the car's open window and swinging at the driver with the same bottle.
The driver then managed to drive away down Albert Street, which prompted Mr Bond to throw several rocks at the car, and one struck its rear.
Police facts state Mr Bond then approached a unit on Evans Street and started yelling for one of the occupants.
A woman inside the unit heard thudding sounds on the front door, and walked out to see Bond had kicked the door in, causing the latch to break and fall away.
The facts state Mr Bond then walked into the unit and smashed a barstool into an already broken window, causing the flyscreen to come away from the frame.
Police later found Mr Bond on Woodbridge Avenue, where he attempted to hide from officers by crouching behind a car.
Officers attempted to arrest Mr Bond, but he refused to get into the police vehicle. When they attempted to restrain Mr Bond, they were prevented by other people on the scene, leading to Mr Bond breaking free and running away.
He was later arrested and charged with the offences.
In court, a DPP prosecutor told Magistrate Doug Dick they had ordered a psychological report for sentencing on the break-and-enter and escape arrest charges.
Mr Bond's case was adjourned to October 18 for sentence at Batemans Bay Local Court. He will appear via AVL.
