The competition, run in partnership with Eurobodalla Shire Council, was first held in 2013, and has become a significant showcase of regional talent and a great promotion of the gardens according to a Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Gardens spokesperson.
"Last year, due to the destruction of the Botanic Garden by bushfire, we were unable to hold the popular competition," the spokesperson said.
"However, organisers are pleased to be able to offer this event once again to enthusiastic junior and senior photographers.
"Each year a calendar has been produced from images submitted in the competition, and this has become a major fundraiser for the Gardens.
"This year, all images in the 2021 exhibition will also be available for sale, with all funds raised going to the ongoing future development of the gardens."
Categories in this year's competition are Life in the Garden, Up Close and Personal, and Recovery and Regeneration.
The closing date for entries is October 3, and selected photographs will be displayed at the visitor's centre between November 5 and November 21.
"That will be your opportunity to vote in the People's Choice category," the spokesperson said.
"All entrants have a chance to win cash prizes and have their images selected for the exhibition and inclusion in the calendar."
All entries must be submitted in a digital format. For full details, and to obtain a photo consent form, either visit the Gardens Visitors Centre on the conclusion of the current lockdown, or visit the garden's website at www.erbg.org.au.
