An investigation is underway after an elderly man was assaulted and his vehicle was stolen at Moruya on Tuesday, July 20.

Just after 2.20pm, emergency services were called to a carpark on Vulcan Street, Moruya, after reports of an assault.
Police were told an 83-year-old man was in the carpark when he was approached by an unknown male who knocked him to the ground and stole his car keys, before fleeing the scene in the man's vehicle.
Police said the vehicle was a 2001 Holden Commodore, bronze in colour and has NSW registration ATZ 12F.
The man was treated at the scene for knee and arm injuries, before being taken to Moruya Hospital in a stable condition.
Officers from South Coast Police District commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The male was described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall and of solid build.
