Members of the Bawley Point Rural Fire Brigade responded to a callout for an Ambulance Assist out along the steep part of the walking track.
A hiker had a fall and as there was no helicopter available, the injured person had to be carried out on a litter stretcher.
Fire and Rescue from Moruya were also on scene and provided a mule litter for the evacuation.
In attendance at the scene were NSW Fire and Rescue, RFS Deputy Group Five Officer, Milton RFB, National Parks personnel as well as SES and NSW Ambulance Service.
The operation was described as a "truly an extended team effort and a job well done by all".
The condition of the walkers remains unclear but was in good hands yesterday.
The well-used walking track had not long been reopened following essential safety works carried out following the 2019-20 summer bushfires and a significant upgrade of the lookout and walking track.
The walking track had been closed since December 2019 following the Currowan Fire, while NPWS cleared damage by the fire to trees, and reinstated damaged visitor infrastructure such as the picnic shelter and toilet.
Concurrently, NPWS has installed a new lookout to improve the safety and experience of park visitors.
The work program also included the stabilisation of boulders in the area.
