A Eurovision campaign to help Aussie European travel dreams come true - despite international borders being closed - will also showcase some European-inspired destinations, one of which is familiar to those on the South Coast.
Mollymook in Ulladulla is reminiscent of the seaside port of Cornwall in the United Kingdom and was given the number one spot on a curated list of the top five European-inspired destinations in Australia where entrants could win a trip to.
Others on the list included Fremantle in Western Australia, rich in Italian heritage, Hobart in Tasmania, which has a French connection to early explorers, Port Douglas in tropical North Queensland, teeming with wild beaches much like the idyllic Balearic Islands of Spain, and Hahndorf in South Australia, known for its original German-style architecture.
Two lucky Eurovision fans could be in with the chance to win a European-inspired getaway without leaving the country in the competition organised by Booking.com.
Over the weekend, Australian Eurovision Song Contest legend Dami Im hosted a Dutch-themed 'Eurovision Song Contest Sleepover' and encouraged Aussies to get involved for a chance to win.
Dami said her sleepover theme was inspired by Rotterdam, a city in the Netherlands which hosted the competition finale.
"Eurovision has a big place in my heart. I was lucky enough to compete in 2016 and it truly was an unforgettable experience. It's such a big celebration for not only music but for all the different cultures around the world," she said.
"Booking.com is the official travel partner for the Eurovision Song Contest for 2021 but in lieu of Aussies able to travel to Europe and get involved this year, they came up with a fun way for us to get involved instead, and reminisce about one of our all-time favourite places to visit."
To enter, Aussie fans had to showcase their favourite European destination in a Eurovision Sleepover with the chosen nation's colours, iconic national foods and symbolic treasures and post the fun on social media.
Italy was victorious in the Eurovision competition, and the winners of the Booking.com travel competition will be announced this week.
