From Tuesday, May 4, tree removal, vegetation clearing and earthworks will be carried out between Wharf Road and the southern end of Thule Road and the speed limit is reduced to 40 km/h.
Work will take between 7am and 6pm on weekdays and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays and is expected to be completed in early July, weather permitting.
One lane of the Kings Highway will be closed during some of this work under stop/slow traffic control, with no lane closures on Saturday.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, allow five minutes additional travel time and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanked road users for their patience during this time.
