Achilles Aiken was travelling north with his father on Saturday, April 3 to spend Easter with his mother. The young Bodalla resident was tragically killed when the car, driven by a 43-year-old woman from Narooma, left the road and collided with a tree.
Achilles' 47-year-old father was also killed in the crash, and another passenger, a 46-year-old man from Dalmeny was airlifted to Canberra in a critical condition.
The GoFundMe has been started by family friend Karen Gough to help Achilles' mother Renae pay for his funeral.
Karen described Achilles as a little boy with a big spirit, who had a passion for cars and had just started school this year.
She said every dollar donated with help lighten the load.
"Renae has so much to deal with as you can imagine so please help me give this beautiful little man the goodbye he truly deserves," she said.
Investigations into the crash continue and South Coast Police District Greg Moore told the media "we don't have a firm indication of what caused the crash at this point but certainly can't rule out factors including fatigue".
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
