Introducing Trix, the Aviatrix - a brave and brash female aviator, and one of the show-stopping characters in the Bay Theatre Players' upcoming production, The Drowsy Chaperone, onstage in April 2021.
Trix is sassy, sleek and a take charge kind of gal.
She is reminiscent of Amelia Earhart and the extraordinary female pilots of the golden age of aviation.
Just as people were going wild for the exceptional Broadway shows and follies of the 1920s and 1930s, so too were they going wild about aviation.
Audiences will be delighted by her sultry alto tones
Air races and daring record setting flights dominated the news, and the advances in flight were remarkable.
In the Bay Theatre Players' highly anticipated production of The Drowsy Chaperone, Trix will be played by a well-loved and seasoned player, Fran Devonold.
Fran has graced the stage in many of the Bay Theatre Players productions, Cabaret and Guys and Dolls to name a few.
Audiences will be delighted by her sultry alto tones, as she steps onto the stage and belts out some tunes as Trix, a glamorous pilot of the 1920s!
Why is an aviatrix in a 1920s Broadway razzle dazzle show?
And how does Trix end up saving the day?
All will be revealed in April 2021, when audiences take their seats and take off for a fantastic afternoon or evening of entertainment!
Tickets for The Drowsy Chaperone are on sale from 22 February.
The season will run from 9 April to 1 May 2021, including Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2pm.
Tickets will sell fast, so make sure you get in early!
Play Exploration
Don't forget to come along to the first play exploration of the year, Wednesday, February 10, at 7pm. In an evening sure to be full of laughter, the Players and friends will explore a comedy called "Exit Laughing" by Paul Elliot, which follows the story of three women in their 50s who have recently lost their close friend and are determined to have one final girls night out - with the ashes in tow! Looking forward to seeing new faces and old at 33 Gregory St, Batemans Bay. For further information, please contact baytheatreplayers@gmail.com
