Boy rescued after falling down Batehaven cliff

Firefighters have rescued a boy after he fell down a cliff face at Batehaven on Friday evening, November 27, Fire and Rescue says.
Batemans Bay Fire and Rescue retained captain Paul Lyons said one of the boy's friends called emergency services about 6.45pm after his friend slipped and fell at Observation Point.
Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the boy on a small ledge about five metres from the top, Captain Lyons said.
The crew set up a rope system, lowered a rescuer to the boy who put him in a harness.
Rescuers hooked him up to the rope system and pulled the boy up to safety.
Mr Lyons said the boy handled the incident well and may not have been aware of the risky situation he was in.
There was a 10-15 metre drop to the rocks below.
Mr Lyons reminded the public to stick to designated walking areas.

Fire and Rescue and paramedics at the scene at Observation Point.
