It was a great turnout for the Sailability Batemans Bay's Maintenance Day recently. Sailing is one of very few sports in which able-bodied and disabled sailors participate on equal terms. Sailability seeks to enrich the lives of people challenged by physical and/or intellectual disability, the elderly, and the financially and socially disadvantaged. As with the rest of life, it has been a challenging year in many ways, not least, that our little fleet of Hansa 303 dinghies, stable and purpose-built for disabled use, have been gathering dust rather than plying the Clyde at Nelligen. With everything now checked and polished, our band of intrepids will take to the water again for a Solo Sailing and Picnic Day. Everyone is welcome to come along, say hi, and see what Sailability is all about. Due to restrictions and distancing, only members of the same family, or carers will be able to go '2 up' for the time being, in order to maintain everyone's safety on and off the water. We meet at the Nelligen Boat Ramp, in Wharf St, from around 10.30am on Sunday December 6, to get rigged and ready. Martyn Lloyd SBB Committee Member
