Phillips (North Nowra-Cambewarra) and Engelbrecht (Ulladulla United) have played a large part in helping their St George District Cricket Club move into eighth on the ladder, with two wins, one draw and two losses through the opening five rounds of the first grade competition.
In those five fixtures, Nowra High School alumnus Phillips has made 167 runs at 33.40, including a high score of 94 against Penrith.
On top of that, he's added three more half-centuries (81 and 64 in Poidevin-Gray Shield and 50 in the Kingsgrove Sports Twenty20 Cup), taking his season run total to 389 from just 11 innings.
During this span, he has also claimed four wickets and taken six catches.
Teammate Engelbrecht, from Tuross Head, has been just as impressive during his 10 appearances, totalling 129 runs, including a 58 against Sutherland, and claiming 14 wickets - at an average of 23.1.
His best figures of 3-23 came against the Blacktown Mounties in round three.
The pair's Dragons side next face UTS North Sydney in round six at Hurstville Oval, as part of the competition's Reconciliation Round.
While Norths junior Wells, who was recently named in Sydney Cricket's Team of the Decade, and his Campbelltown-Camden are still searching for their first win this season - sitting in 18th in first grade with one draw and four losses.
During this stretch, first-drop Wells has totalled 56 runs.
His Ghosts will be out to claim their first win of the season against his former side Bankstown on Saturday.
