Ms Giorgi saw two goannas in a tussle on Tebbs Road, Narooma.
"From afar we thought it looked like an octopus, you could only see tentacles," she said.
Ms Giorgi pulled over to get a closer look.
"I got out of the car to get closer and they didn't care at all," she said.
"After about four to five minutes, one of them bit the other in the belly and ran away."
Ms Giorgi questioned whether the two big lizards were mating or fighting.
"It was exciting to be part of this, I felt like the next David Attenborough," she laughed.
