Following a difficult time with COVID-19 restricting group activities, Eurobodalla Photographic Club members welcomed the easing of restrictions that allowed us to get together and share our passion for photography.
Twenty members enjoyed the hospitality of Narooma Charters for an hour of whale watching and close encounters with Australian and New Zealand fur seals before landing on Montague. Our thanks are extended to Norm and his crew For the informative commentary on the migrating whale population abundant in our local waters at this time of year. Although the whales were somewhat shy on our trip most of the participants managed to photograph a few tail flips.
After landing on Montague Island we were greeted by two volunteer guides, Anna and Mel, who spent the next two hours showing our group the local colonies of nesting gulls, terns and penguins.
A tour of the islands buildings and features was complemented by captivating stories of life for those that lived and died on the island and the significance of the landscape to the first nation.
A selection of photographs taken by our members are shown.
