Workability employment consultant Zoe Buckley said Peter started work experience in February and within a month he started his new job
She knows work experience is a great pathway to a paid job.
Moruya Cycles manager Angus Murphy said: "Pete's role is an important part of our business. He makes sure we keep on top of our online orders and ship on time."
Zoe approached Moruya cycles for a position for Pete. Given Pete's enthusiasm for tinkering on his trike she thought this would be a great fit. Angus, Zoe and Pete decided a short work experience would be helpful in working out what Pete's duties would look like and how we could best tailor the position for him.
Pete's daily duties are to pack online orders and take them to post office in the basket of his trike.
Pete also prices items and places them on display. Pete also assists with minor repair work with the bike mechanic, Joel, in the workshop.
Pete says it is a great place to work: "We have all kinds of bikes and accessories. I love being part of the team. Our team wear hats with the 100% brand. We all agree - this bike shop is 100% enthusiasm."

Day of action
On Friday, September 25, workers, school students and concerned locals in the Eurobodalla Shire will rally as part of a day of action demanding PM Scott Morrison rule out giving billions of COVID-19 recovery funds to gas.
The #FundOurFutureNotGas day of action is quickly becoming the most widespread day of action against gas in Australia's history, with hundreds of actions. The day is being organised by the School Strike 4 Climate network, as well as First Nations communities, unions, and everyday Australians.
Concerned citizens here in the Eurobodalla want Scott Morrison to invest COVID-19 recovery funds into renewable energy, creating thousands of jobs that would also help tackle climate change. Giving billions of taxpayer dollars to the polluting gas industry is clearly an irresponsible use of public funds.
It's appalling; especially as we on the South Coast continue to try and deal with the devastating blow delivered to our forests last summer.

Help ensure 'it's in the bag'
Share the Dignity, a charity helping women and girls access sanitary items, needs volunteers to help collect, count and distribute items for their upcoming It's In The Bag 2020 Christmas appeal.
2020 has been tough. Challenging circumstances are pushing women and girls fleeing from domestic violence and homelessness, at risk of period poverty, into a more terrifying world.
Tough economic conditions and the coronavirus pandemic mean the charity needs to rally closer together to make the appeal a success.
Share the Dignity is an Australian charity bringing dignity to women and girls experiencing homelessness, domestic violence and period poverty.
It's in the Bag appeal gives women and girls doing it tough over the holiday period a reason to smile and feel cared for, by providing handbags filled with essential hygiene products, as well as a few extra little treats.
This campaign is run from November 20, through until November 29 and bags can be dropped off at your local Bunnings store.
