Police say 10 people were arrested and several people fined after officers conducted a two-day shoplifting operation in the Batemans Bay CBD on Wednesday and Thursday, July 8-9.

In total, 12 people were searched, 10 people arrested, four court attendance notices issued, five criminal infringement notices issued, one juvenile caution issued, one vehicle search conducted, two drug detections and two traffic infringement notices issued.
Four people issued with court attendance notices included a 49-year-old Moruya man, a 27-year-old Mogo man, a 20-year-old Catalina man and a 32-year-old Minto woman.
On Thursday, July 9, police arrested the Moruya man after he was allegedly caught shoplifting in a Batemans Bay supermarket about 10.30am. The man was charged with shoplifting, and will face Batemans Bay Local Court on August 17.
At 12.15pm, police conducted a vehicle search and arrested the Mogo man on Perry Street, Batemans Bay, after officers allegedly found prohibited drugs and restricted medication. The man was charged with possessing prohibited drug and possessing prescribed/restricted substance and will face Batemans Bay Local Court on August 17.
At 2.30pm, police arrested the Catalina man after he was allegedly caught shoplifting in a Batemans Bay supermarket. The man was charged with shoplifting, and will face Batemans Bay Local Court on August 10.
An hour later, police arrested the Minto woman after she was allegedly caught shoplifting in a Batemans Bay supermarket. The woman was charged with shoplifting and will face Batemans Bay Local Court on August 10.
Five people issued with criminal infringement notices included a 20-year-old Catalina woman, a 39-year-old Batehaven woman, a 20-year-old Canberra woman, a 21-year-old Canberra woman and a 27-year-old Tanja woman.
On Wednesday, July 8, police arrested the Catalina woman after she was allegedly caught shoplifting in a Batemans Bay supermarket in Batemans Bay about 3.45pm. Officers issued the woman a $300 Criminal Infringement Notice for shoplifting.
About 4.15pm, police arrested the Batehaven woman after she was allegedly caught shoplifting in a Batemans Bay supermarket. Officers issued the woman a $300 Criminal Infringement Notice for shoplifting.
Only 15 minutes later, police arrested the two Canberra women after they were allegedly caught shoplifting in a Batemans Bay supermarket. Officers issued each woman a $300 Criminal Infringement Notice for shoplifting.
About 5.30pm on Thursday, police arrested the Tanja woman after she was allegedly caught shoplifting in a Batemans Bay supermarket. Officers issued the woman a $300 Criminal Infringement Notice for shoplifting.
About 2.20pm on Thursday, police arrested a 17-year-old Googong girl after she was allegedly caught shoplifting in a Batemans Bays supermarket. Police said the girl was "dealt with under the Young Offenders Act for the offence of shoplifting".
