Sergeant Angus Duncombe said there were many more visitors in the Batemans Bay area and a large number of people have been caught speeding on the Kings and Princes Highways.
He said highway patrol police officer numbers had been boosted and more vehicles were allocated.
He reminded drivers police would not hesitate to confiscate a vehicle if a driver was travelling more than 45 km/h above the speed limit, and met certain requirements.
He said speeding was the greatest contributor to crashes on NSW roads.
Batemans Bay Highway Patrol have sent five officers to the Victorian border from Tuesday until Sunday, July 7-12.
Sergeant Duncombe said the officers were inspecting permits between the border and Eden, and would be rotated for as long as necessary.
He also warned police had identified offenders committing burnouts at Batemans Bay, Moruya and Tuross Head. Evidence from CCTV footage, phone footage and witnesses was being gathered.
