"We have been helping affected people supplying almost $80,000 worth of goods for those that needed assistance," Bev Davis of Bodalla said.
"More recently a group of us took a load of groceries and home made goods out to Nerrigundah and Cadgee for the people there.
"They were so happy to see and talk to us, it got us thinking that we should organise a get together, so people could talk to each other," Mrs White said.
Parishioners Lyn Burdon, Jill Mason and Bev Davis organised a barbecue sausage sizzle for election day in the garden at All Saint's Church in Bodalla.
"We thought people would be coming into town to vote, so it would be a good opportunity for them to catch up and have something to eat," she said.
About 20 people attended the parish picnic where members of Anglicare and the Red Cross were on hand to advise people about the help available to them.
Along with plants potted by members of the parishes, Bodalla, Tilba and Greenlands garden centres brought along plants to giveaway and Bodalla CWA ladies cooked slices for people to take home.
Thanks also goes to Woolworths for donating the sausages and bread rolls and to IGA for the coleslaw.
