Eurobodalla Koala Project spokesperson Keith Joliffe said the group was making good progress on its "Commonwealth-funded habitat fieldwork priority for this year, after a long bushfire and COVID delay".
He said NPWS staff would accompany volunteers and the group also had Forestry permission to search in the Moruya and Dampier forests at a later date.
"Thanks to our ever-growing pool of talented and committed volunteers we have good background research and a GIS component ready to go," Mr Joliffe said.
He said drone images taken in May over sites such as Little Sugarloaf Rd were helpful.
"I've undertaken a virtual plot survey using them," he said. "They've also been shared with NPWS." Visit eurokoalas.com.
