Sam Bath is the youngest player in Drowsy, but he rivals the on stage experience of many of his fellow players twice or three times his age.
In his own words, Sam explains his experience and what is so great about community theatre.
"I have been acting at the Bay Theatre since 2013," Sam said.
"I joined after seeing a performance of Youthapalooza in 2012, and thought it looked like a lot of fun.
"As a musical theatre enthusiast and a fan of clever comedy, The Drowsy Chaperone seemed like a perfect show to be a part of.
"I have worked with many of the cast and crew before and they are excellent.
"I have different reasons for loving the shows I have been a part of.
"Cinderella holds a special place in my heart because it was my first production.
"The Wind in the Willows allowed me to have my first on-stage lines.
"Stories in the Dark gave me my first lead role.
"A Midsummer Night's Dream introduced me to the world of Shakespeare.
"The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe helped me develop new friendships and build upon previous ones.
"But my favourite show was Haphazardly Ever After due to two special friendships I gained, and having a fun, comedic role that made people laugh."
Sam does not confine his love of the arts to theatre.
"My interests outside of acting predominantly focus on the arts," he said.
"I love music and play guitar and piano, as well as performing songs at various events.
"One of my biggest passions is writing, including scripts, stories and music, which I can use to merge the other interests I have.
"I have written many projects, including musicals, music, plays, movies, television shows and short films."
Sam has been part of Youth Theatre for a long time, and The Drowsy Chaperone team are excited to see his experience and talent light up the stage later this year.
