- Gossip Gal
Readers need to be alerted there are scams doing the rounds. There's one supposedly from Telstra Support, telling you they need remote access to your computer to fix a security issue. Once you are online, and have given over control of your computer, they ask you to log into your online banking. Soon after, you will find funds missing from your bank account.
Another is purported to be from Amazon, in a recorded message, where they say you have a service with them. If you want to dispute that, and get a refund, you will need to press "1" and speak to a "customer service officer", who of course, will request your bank account details.
Do not, under any circumstances, give any private information to anyone who calls like this. Just hang up.
The lovely Marie Norton, nurse extraordinaire from the Bay's Medical Centre, had a birthday on Monday, and celebrated with a bunch of her girlfriends at the weekend. Valerie Schuyt, of Rosedale, had another birthday on Tuesday, and Joan Cassidy, of Surf Beach, will celebrate her birthday on Sunday. Best wishes to you both!
The Malua Bay Bowlo, now known as Club Malua, continues to operate from their big white marquee, as well as their cool refreshments - they now offer sandwiches, wraps, pies and toasties, and sweets with your coffees. It's a pleasant place to while away an hour or two. It seems they are getting close to being able to start on their rebuilding of the club house, which was burnt to the ground during the fires.
Tomakin Sports and Social Club are now having lunches again with a few changes. Instead of serving food from the bain maries, orders are now taken and delivered to your table piping hot. Both Clubs are doing temperature testing on people entering.
Wishing Jo Elphick from Long Beach two things: a speedy recovery after breaking her shoulder this week, and I hope you could use your other arm to cut your birthday cake on Wednesday!
Fashionista: How gorgeous is little six-month-old Airlie Blacksmithson? Airlie (love that name) was out shopping with Mum and getting lots of folk stopping to chat with her. Surely a hair product contract is in the mail?
