Fire and Rescue crews are working with Rural Fire Service crews to conduct hazard reduction burns along South Head Road, in Moruya Heads area, Friday, June 19.
Crews were based at Hazel Street since 9am this morning and were due to finish mid-afternoon.
"Crews are reducing the fuel load, doing a strategic burn to give us a buffer," Fire and Rescue NSW duty commander Jason Murphy said.
Mr Murphy said the burn was less than 26 hectares. Smoke may be visible in the area.
More to come.
