Police say a man has died after a suspected drowning near Batemans Bay on Sunday, May 24.

"Emergency services were called to Long Beach about 12.30pm, after a member of the public located an empty kayak and notified police," police said.
"Officers from South Coast Police District attended and located a body in the water.
"An officer retrieved the body, before providing CPR until paramedics arrived.
"Despite best efforts, the man died at the scene."
Police said the man was yet to be formally identified, but was believed to be 43 years old.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner, and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
