These include five online tech micro-credentials training short courses in coding, cloud, web development, AgTech (agriculture) and artificial intelligence, and additionally, three online hackathons.
In the wake of COVID-19, the programme is suited for those willing and interested in training for tech jobs.
Due to its exclusively online approach, the programme complies with today's social distancing rules and makes for a great educational opportunity as people lose employment due to the continued fallout from the global pandemic.
The 2pi Software RET initiative, funded by the Australian Federal Government, represents a whole new approach to employability skills acquisition for job-seekers in Bega, Batemans Bay, Nowra and outlying rural and remote areas.
The programme's focus is on online delivery of high-value digital skills training that unemployed people facing transport and other challenges can more easily participate in.
The 2pi Software RET programme kicked off at the end of March with the first of three online Code-a-job Hackathons - a day of creativity and learning designed to stimulate an interest in digital technology as a career outlet.
The stand-alone training workshops, or micro-credentials, component of the programme begins on Monday, April 6 and is free to unemployed people in the Bega Valley, Eurobodalla and Shoalhaven regions.
It is beneficial to attend all the online micro-credential courses if you are thinking of joining any.
To attend the online micro-credential training workshops or upcoming hackathons in the RET programme book by clicking here.
All events in the RET programme are free to join and are online.
People can sign up to one or more hackathons, or the micro-credential training workshops, or both.
The online micro-credential course material will place a strong emphasis on employability skills in industry sectors that have a strong footprint in remote areas such as local government organisations, agriculture and tourism, with a view to improving opportunities to secure enjoyable long-running locally-based employment.
2pi Software has a eight-year history of involvement in building a tech community in the Bega Valley.
Through the RET programme, 2pi Software seeks to take an active role in upskilling local job-seekers in digital disciplines.
