Benjamin Lucas from Catalina faced one count of acts done in preparation for, or planning, terrorist acts, an offence which carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment, and two counts of possessing a prohibited firearm.

Lucas is now one of three men arrested and charged by NSW Joint Counter Terrorism Team (JCTT) following the execution of a number of search warrants over the past week on the NSW South Coast.

Lucas' Legal Aid solicitor Matt Kwan applied for bail, which was opposed by David Jordan, representing the Commonwealth Department of Prosecution.

The court heard Lucas, who has strong local ties to the community, allegedly made admissions to police in relation to bomb making experience and admissions of gaining materials to make crude bombs.

Magistrate Gabriel Fleming refused the bail application, remanding Lucas in custody to reappear in court on May 11.

The latest charged, a 19-year-old man from Falls Creek, was arrested on Saturday for the possession of an unauthorised firearm. He will appear in court on June 1.

Twenty-one-year-old Joshua Bruce Lucas, of Sanctuary Point, has also been before the court charged with an acts done in preparation for, or planning, a terrorist act.

He remains in custody and will reappear on May 11.
