Welcome to the South Coast
Autumn brings with it cooler temperatures, and this year, relief from the hot and windy days of summer that wreaked bushfire havoc up and down the NSW South Coast.
Many towns featured in the pages of this magazine were affected greatly, with homes, businesses and tragically in some cases, lives lost.
While the devastation has been apparent, so too are stories of hope, rebuilding, and communities banding together to support one another.
We ask that you also consider supporting these towns which rely heavily on tourism dollars throughout the entire year.
Read the autumn edition of the South Coast Leisure Times online.
As has been suggested, pack an empty esky, gear for a few days and make your way to a village in need of your support.
There are still many shops open, and reopening all the time. A pop-up mall has even been set up in the historic town of Mogo.
The beaches are still as stunning as ever, with the water still perfect for a dip or enjoying on a boat, paddleboard or surfboard.
Many of the forested areas are again turning green with recent rainfall, and although recovery will be long, are still wonderful places worth exploring.
Autumn heralds a number of festivals on the South Coast, so it's a gerat time to plan a visit whether to the Celtic Festival in Berry, Phoenix Festival in Ulladulla or the infamous Blessing of the Fleet, or perhaps one of a number happening on the Far South Coast.
Whatever you decide to do, we know you'll enjoy it, because the coast offers the best there is - in terms of produce, accommodation and entertainment.
So happy exploring, and have a great autumn.
Best wishes,
From the South Coast Leisure Times team
