Judging by the faces of the 35 people who came, it was a happy day; a chance to get back into a routine and see old friends.
We are always ready to welcome new members so please contact Margaret Fletcher, 4472 4886 or Carol D'Evelynes 4472 3504 for details. Our walks are about 60 to 90 minutes long, every Wednesday, depending on your ability and we finish with lunch together at the starting point.
Wear loose comfortable clothing and flat well cushioned shoes. Bring along a snack and drink in a lightweight back pack. Do not forget to wear a hat in hot weather and use a 15+ sun block on exposed skin.
The Eurobodalla Walking for Pleasure group was formed in 1989.
We provide a range of enjoyable and scenic weekly walks at venues between Narooma and North Durras. We arrive at the venue by 10.50am, ready to start the walk at 11am. There is absolutely no obligation or pressure to complete the full walk.
While our walks are not too demanding, the onus is on each participant to seek their own medical advice regarding participation in the group. Because of annoyance and liability issues, walkers are not encouraged to bring their dogs.
We currently have about 80 members, with an average attendance of about 30 members at each walk. Our group is run on a very informal basis, the emphasis being on social interaction and enjoyment as much as exercise.
After each walk we enjoy a bring-your-own picnic lunch, and a good chat. We celebrate the group's Birthday with a BBQ on the first Wednesday in June, and we also have a Christmas Party in December.
Annual membership fees are due in February, or for new members, at the time of joining. The fees are used for such purposes as postage, telephone calls, stationery, and also to subsidise our Birthday BBQ and Christmas Party.
