The Strides deliver a musical experience that is as explosive as it is authentic. They are a force for Reggae music, fronted by roots man Ras Roni from Barbados, Fijian MC LTL GZeus and Sierra Leonian ragga powerhouse Blaka C. The Strides' music faithfully builds on the foundations of classic roots reggae with a hip-hop edge, forging a sound that brings together modern dance hall, dub beats and reggae-pop. After 12 years on the road, this world class nine-piece band have become a reggae institution, melding a diversity of cultures and instrumentation under the one universal consciousness. The Batemans Bay BMX Club is hosting a come and try day from 10am-2pm. All participants will receive a BMX Australia show bag. The club has bikes, helmets and gloves to borrow.

Nowra, February 7-8
There won't be a dull moment at the 144th Nowra Show. The major Friday night entertainment will be the popular Rodeo, featuring an open steer ride as well as novice and open bull rides. Saturday evening will celebrate emergency service personnel, with a precision tree felling demonstration by the Rural Fire Service tree fellers, prior to the demolition derby and monster truck exhibition. Art Vs Science

Art Vs Science are returning to their roots to play a series of sweaty club shows around the country. On the 10th anniversary of their first release, Art vs Science - aka Dan Mac, Dan W and Jim Finn - are excited to share details of a tour, limited edition vinyl and remastered version of the Art vs Science EP. Their achievements over the past decade are notable with two albums, three EPs, four consecutive years in the Hottest 100 (including a number two spot for 'Parlez-Vous Francais?' and ninth for 'Magic Fountain'), multiple gold and platinum accreditations, and a #2 ARIA chart debut and ARIA Award for their debut album The Experiment. The band will perform at The Marlin Hotel next weekend.
Morton Choppers
Narooma, Tilba & Merimbula, February 15-16
His tour, 2020 Vision, is a three-month-long solo acoustic, van-based excursion across the East Coast. Morton Choppers will be out meeting the people and bringing a mix of down-home folk, modern Australiana and redemptive gospel blues. His hotly anticipated debut release is slated for 2020. Morton Choppers will share his music next Saturday at Surfbeach Cafe, Narooma from 12pm before heading to Nosh Merimbula from 5pm. He will be at Tilba's Dromedary Hotel on Sunday.
