The group has also assisted a Bermagui family who lost most of their belongings in the flames.

While the preschool's bus was covered by insurance, the payout did not extend to the full cost of running the bus or new car seats and installation.

GIVIT Representative Caroline Odgers said the group has coordinated donations to ensure the new bus will be equipped with 17 Car Seats to safely transport its smallest and youngest passengers.

The bus service, managed by local not-for-profit Campbell Page, provides free transport for students from low-income families. Currently, 51 children are registered, and every school day the bus transports almost two-dozen children (aged 3-6 years old).

Preschool attendance drops by 70% on days the bus is not operating, and the service is unfunded, with operating costs borne by Campbell Page.

The donation will enable the Preschool to help local children from low income families, continue their education.

In addition, a home to three generations of an Aboriginal family near Bermagui has been "kitted-out" with new appliances from local retailers and donated furniture.

The family lost almost all of their belongings in the bushfires, including Christmas presents for the five young children.

Within two days, GIVIT had coordinated the donations for the family.

GIVIT is calling for all on-ground charities and community groups to sign-up to GIVIT's Online Donation Management Platform to access the outpouring of generous donations from across Australia - www.givit.org.au/charity-registration.

GIVIT is already working closely with Red Cross, Anglicare and community groups across the NSW South Coast.

One hundred per cent of donated funds to GIVIT's Bushfires Appeal are being used to meet specific needs, with a focus on purchasing items and services locally to also provide an economic benefit to local businesses.

Since coming on-board last week as official bushfire donation management partner of the NSW Government, GIVIT has coordinated almost $10,000 in grocery, fuel and hardware store vouchers for impacted residents in immediate need across the region.
