Club president Kirsty McPaul said she was unaware of who put the club forward, but was thrilled to see the Bega club make the shortlist.
"It is a true honour to be recognised for the great club that we are," Ms McPaul said.
"We sometimes feel isolated being in the bottom corner of the state and it has been one of my missions as president to raise the profile of our club.
"We have so much talent in the area that needs to be noticed and provided with the same support as our city counterparts."
The winner will be annoiunced at the Equestrian NSW 2019 annual awards for excellence in Sydney on February 1.
This award recognises an ENSW affiliated Club during 2019 that has provided a significant impact on community values, awareness of the sport and/or significant economic benefits.
Criteria covers a span of club dynamics including contribution and sustaining participation in the sport, service to the club members, the size and number of club events held as well as the governing, planning and management of the club and those events.
Ms McPaul said some shifts around major events actually helped aid participation and may have contributed to the nomination.
"We broke tradition by changing the date of our major event, the Bega Showjumping Cup to the October long weekend, which we very well received," she said.
"We also incorporated for the first time, running of the NSW Country Jumping Championships, which attracted a lot of new competitors to our event."
At the time Ms McPaul said conflicting events had pulled away some of the competitors from the headline Bega Cheese Showjumping Cup, but entries received a bump overall with dozens of extra riders taking part.
Ms McPaul said she also wanted to use her time in the presidency to put an emphasis on skill-sharing and training days.
"We invited many coaches to conduct schools and guest instructors to provide tuition and support at our ususal training days," she said.
"Our club regularly received compliments on how great our members and volunteers work together and I couldn't agree more - particularly the few who go above and beyond."
Further to the nomination, club member Bella Griffin was named the Equestrian NSW Interschool Secondary Jumping Champion.
The Lumen Christi student, 15, has been part of the elite athlete program since starting Year 7.
"Bella has worked very hard in the sport of showjumping and enjoyed great success over the past years," Ms McPaul said. Bella and her family will attend the awards night and Ms McPaul said the club was very proud of her ongoing achievements for the club.
